OK, this is going to be an obscure question so I apologize in advance for that, but I'm reading through old issues of Daredevil (in my quest to, well, read them) and I came across this:

In the Last Rites/Fall of the Kingpin storyline, D.G. Chichester introduces a character by the name of Kathy Malper. Ms. Malper is described as a Federal DA for New York (which isn't a thing, but leaving that aside). She's tough as nails, no nonsense, and, what I thought was most amusing, a die-hard Red Sox fan.

Later on, Joe Kelly introduces Ms. Malpher, a New York Assistant DA (actually a thing) who is tough as nails, no nonsense, and wearing a Yankees cap.

Are they supposed to be the same character? Is the change in letter and, more importantly, significant shift of team allegiances an error? Does anybody remember either or have thoughts on them? Has either character returned since then?

Here is at least someone who noticed the same thing
