With the failure of the DD movie and success of the DD TV show, I have to ask whether DD just works better as a TV show then a movie? Daredevil doesn't really require a huge budget (there is no need for a CGI Stilt-Man to appear), you can tell longer and more complex stories with a TV show and on a format like Netflix it can get with things that Marvel would not put in the movies. |

No, I think it could work as a movie just as well. Though the comparisons are made too often, Daredevil could have been the Marvel's Dark Knight series of films.
Yes, TV makes for longer, detailed story telling but with the right writer, a film should be able to do the source material justice. The Lord of the Rings, the Godfather, Harry Potter, etc....there are numerous examples.
I love the TV series passionately but I'm still curious as to what could have been with both David Slade and Joe Carnanhan. |
