As much as I love The Bealtes.... I can't stand any of their stuff before Rubber Soul. On the other hand, I can listen to any Rolling Stone album. Rolling Stones also have Sympathy for the Devil, which is one of my favorite songs ever, which I perfer over any Beatles song. So its the Stones for me. |

Can't there be another option? Elvis, anyone? He is better than both.
If we have to go in more the same vein, I choose Velvet Underground.
I never liked the beatles or the stones. _________________ Even though I'm broke I got a six pack of beer. |

Beatles, I have a Beatles Greatest Hits Album, One, but no stones. Not a massive fan of either, but got the Beatles as I felt that I should have at least a copy of some of their famous songs. Pretty lame excuse really I suppose! _________________ Always Out-Manned, Never Out-Gunned |

I love the 64-71 era of the Stones. Some of my favorite songs ever.
Take the Beatles worst record, Let it Be, and it is still miles better than 60% of the Stones albums. This is my logic for picking the Beatles.

I don't know about that. I would sooner listen to Exile on Main Street, Sticky Fingers, Let it Bleed, or even Beggar's Banquit before I would listen to any Beatles album. Hell, I even like 40 Licks better than Beatles 1. |

Elvis? You're kidding.
I voted for the Beatles. Stones are the U2 of that generation. Blah. _________________ JC

There would be more situations where I would want to hear The Beatles than The Rolling Stones. Therefore they get my vote. |

Beatles. I like both, but Beatles.
Dorians choice of Stones albums are spot on, between about 1968-72, the Stones did some great stuff here, but before this its amazing to see them trying to find their feet and copying the Beatles time and time again. Beatles use a sitar on 'Norwegan Wood', so the Stones go and find one for 'Paint It Black'. 'We Love You' is a poor mans 'All You Need Is Love' Beatles stop touring, Stones do the same. And as much as I love 'Satanic Majesties', it's trying desperatly to be 'Sgt Pepper' and it just ain't.
Two great bands. But one is greater. Beatles.
"I have no illusions about 'taking over' from the Beatles. You have to remember, The Beatles are a phenomenon" - Brian Jones 1967. |

I guess I'm the only other person to pick the Stones, I thought the Stones 2 disc greatest hits was better than the Beatles #1 cd. Of course who doesn't love both.
