Issue Summary

Summary/Review by Michael Deeley

Matt Murdock has taken a vacation to give Foggy Nelson a chance to move into a smaller office, and try and forget his love for Karen Page. But peace is denied Murdock, for his cruise ship is attack by the Plunderer, a modern-day pirate. Murdock changes to Daredevil and fights off the Plunderer's pirates. But he's forced to surrender when the Plunderer threatens the ship's crew.

DD's taken aboard the Plunderer's ship which transforms into a nuclear-powered submarine! There the Plunderer reveals he steals to fund his search for lost Atlantis. They sail under the Antarctic ice shelf to emerge in a prehistoric jungle-that mysterious place known as the Savage Land! When the ship surfaces, and the crew disembarks on land, they are attacked by Ka-Zar, savage protector of the Savage Land! During the fight, crates of explosives are set off. The shockwaves destroy Daredevil's radar sense, rendering him blind!

Ka-Zar, moved by DD's courage in battle, carries the injured hero to a cave. He then goes to find a Ju-ju plant whose juice could heal Daredevil. But the plant is guarded ravenous killer plants. Ka-Zar and his tiger Zabu fight for their lives, all while a hulking man-beast looms over Daredevil!

Ka-Zar refers to his meeting with the X-Men in 'X-Men' #10. This Ka-Zar bears no relation or connection to the Ka-Zar published by Timely Comics in the 1930's and 40's.
