Issue Summary

Summary by Samuel Johnson

Daredevil lands the Owl's mechanical owl over Long Island. Back in New York, he decides to tell Karen of his feelings for her.

Meanwhile, since X-MEN #23, the Maggia crime family is leaderless. The Masked Marauder and the Gladiator hatch a plan to prove their worth to the Maggia. The Marauder uses his levitation ray to abduct three cons and absorbs their special abilities -- the Mangler's strength, the Dancer's speed and the Brain's intelligence -- into an android, the "Tri-Man", and tells the Maggia that it will defeat Daredevil in Madison Square Garden.

In the Nelson & Murdock offices, Matt hears a broadcast saying the Tri-Man has stormed into the boxing ring and demanded that Daredevil meet him "or [he.ll] destroy the arena -- and everyone within it!" Matt realises he can't slip away with Karen in the office so he dresses in Foggy's Daredevil costume and gets Karen to drive him to the arena -- in case the real Daredevil doesn't appear"! Once they arrive he slips away in the pandemonium and Daredevil appears in the ring! DD defeats the Tri-Man, but, watching on a monitor miles away, the Marauder notices Karen and Foggy in the crowd and deduces the connection between Daredevil and the pair. Over the loudspeaker he says: "Surrender immediately -- or they die!.
