No plans to pick up anything, but I may get Batman: City of Crime TPB or Uncanny X-Men to check out Bru's X-Men writing abilities. _________________ "Why should I be frightened of dying?

I'll be getting the following:
52 WEEK #9 - Enjoying the series, just want more of the Question and Montoya, really enjoy their "Screen" time together.
DETECTIVE COMICS #821 - Only started getting this since James Robinson's Face the Face, will continue to get it, looking forward to Paul Dini's run.
JONAH HEX #9 - Okay stuff, not wonderful, but something different.
FURY PEACEMAKER #6 (OF 6) - Never really hit the high notes, still getting it as I like Ennis and Fury, but a poor story really.
PUNISHER #35 (MR) - The man, I hope that Frank starts banging some heads and gives this lot of crooks the whole nine yards and then some small arms fire!
I think that X-Isle from Boom comics may be in this week, I fancied that and I also think that I missed Talent #2 last week. If anyone actually reads this drivel that I write then I cannot strongly enough recommend a comic called Talent, it was from Boom Comics (I think), it was an amazing first issue, it reads like it should be a Wildstorm or Vertigo type story, great set-up, amazing total package, cannot recommend this highly enough. _________________ Always Out-Manned, Never Out-Gunned |

Archenemies #4 is the only thing I'll be picking up this week. It's been quite a fun little series. |

I'm curious to know how you feel about the first issue. I could not stand the preview in Brave New World, last week! In fact, I've never read anything by Bruce Jones that I like. _________________ "Flash is back. Worlds will die again!" |

I liked the art on that preview, but the story wasn't very clear to me... |

A light week for me. I'm only up for one issue.
Y: The Last Man #47 - A little more than a year to go on this adventure and it's still rolling along. I'm thinking back over the entire run of this book and I'm having difficulty thinking of a period when this book wasn't top notch. If you haven't been following it, catch up in trades and come along for the end of the ride. _________________ 2006 Pull List Awards

wow... Bruce Jones is one of the few people I get anything they do... and lately it's all been things I'd never pick up normally (Warlord, Nightwing, Omac). All solid writing to me, but I don't really know the history of Omac, so I can't tell you if it lives up to any standards other than my own Bruce Jones ones... which are obviously quite different from yours |

This was a fantastic issue! To be honest, I was quite worried about reading this after the Brave New World issue. Jones is more "miss than hit" for me and the preview writing in BNW was easily a "miss." However, there was no question in my mind that Renato Guedes was the superior artist in the special. Especially loved his take on Superman.
Omac #1 has no wacky dream sequence. In fact, the preview to the series has no bearing at all. This is pretty straight forward. Guedes is going to be a name to remember. I am really blown away by his style. I loved the original OMAC series by Jack Kirby. Remains one of my favorite short runs that I own. I also liked Rucka's take on the OMAC Project in the prelude to Crisis series. This new series follows Rucka's run and the one-shot OMAC issue during IC, but it seems to pay tribute more closely to the original Kirby run where only a single OMAC exist. Rucka really made OMAC his own book. I think Jones is more in line of following Kirby rather than making it his own. A safe approach for a writer I have trouble with for the most part.
Really glad that I went ahead and read this. Look forward to the next issue.
Atom #1 was written quite well, but the Bryne art is really aweful. I don't think I'll keep on it.
