I'll be honest here.

I saw this bust in the previews and thought "cheese."

Still though, I went ahead and ordered this. I had some hope that it would be worth it. First, a picture in the Previews can never do justice for a Bowen (or most other statues and busts). The real thing in front of your face is usually better where you can see the paints and the details up close. Secondly, this was sculpted by the Kucharek bothers. They nailed the Daredevil busts. I had some hope they could pull it off. And third, I seem to have a nice section on one of my bookcases devoted to Bowen busts that are relevant to the Daredevil universe. What kind of fan would I really be to pass up on this.

Well, the box arrived (the ONLY box for the shop) the other day. I held my breath as I opened the box and cut the tape off. I began to think to myself, "did I just waste some cash today?" When the tissue was removed to reveal the bust, my geekout began.

The sheer size of this bust is imposing! The fine detail work given to Melvin's blue eyes in the helmet is fantastic. He looks ready to kill. I just love all the colours. His blades look great. They did a wonderful job putting a blue sheen over some of the silver blades to give it that nice reflection. This is so worth purchasing!

When I got home I spent a good half hour ignoring the wife and kids while I "played" with my various busts trying to get the perfect pose and setup.

I'll be getting that Gladiator bust, for sure.

Oh, and yeah, the two DD Bowen busts are damn good.

I also got the Hard Hero statues (both Yellow and Red). Very cool.
