HuH-oh...

It seems that the denouement it is going to be even worse that any of us imagined.

well, right now there must be a lot of links and boiling with comments. But maybe the most direct thing will be to read an interview with the main culprit (Big, big spoilers there).

Unless it's the kind of thing where we'll have Peter, within a few months, waking up and telling MJ "honey, I just had the weirdest of nightmares" after which everithing would go back to the regular continuity.

You're gonna larf and larf, but the events in OMD have a direct impact in Foggy Nelson's life, believe it or not.

How is that? I've read that interview but didn't find anything. Except for the obvious joke on DD being a skrull.

... well, in regular continuity, Foggy Nelson was dating a widow for some time

I think she means that with Harry still being alive, the relationship between Foggy and Liz would have never existed. Unless Liz was cheating, of course...

But that's the problem with these kinds of events. I won't be difficult to ignore it in DD since it doesn't affect anything in current continuity, but from a general Marvel U standpoint it gets weird.

Guys, people at marvel are constantly ignoring (often with tragicomic results) whatever happens in continuity to _Daredevil/Matt Murdock_, do you think they're giving a damn about Foggy?

Well, in current continuity, I suppose this only implies that either Foggy and Liz were cheating Harry, or they both have now a Joephistofelic hole in their memories.

Indeed, as far as DD goes, this might not have earth-shaking effects (other than making the Fogster's love life history less eventful), but... Then what happens with Normie? and Big Norman?

Their answer would probably be the same to the question "Hey guys, we had Spidey unmask, and that's cool. What do we do now?". That is:

"We'll figure out a way later"

I'm afraid you're spot-on there... Still, the recent Osborn event means that a lot of major details of Spidey's continuity get obliterated, or directly, awfully messed-up

Yeah, I think it's more like it happened and then everyone forgot about it. Does that mean that parts of what happened in Guardian Devil with Foggy cheating on Liz with "scary demon lady" also didn't happen? Hmm... Maybe Guardian Devil was just a bad dream in its entirety. Wink

Yeah, but "who cares"? Judging from the interview, Quesada only cares about "writing fresh stories for new readers", showing an incredibly selfish disrespect for the rest of the readers who still care about Spider-man.

Yes, the way he talks about the book's readers is extremely disrespectful. He's basically saying that the reason people are against these changes have to do with the readers getting older and wanting Peter to age along with them when that's really just nonsense. There have got to be other ways of making characters fresh without changing every aspect of their lives and basically making them completely different characters.

Does anyone know how the rest of Marvel's books are doing sales-wise? I just get the feeling that readers are going to leave ASM in record numbers.

Wow... Then there will be at least one good side to OMD! Laughing

BTW, I recall when Brubaker had Matt back as a lawyer in Hell kitchen, Foggy back from the dead, etc... some people complained about the "return to the status quo" (which as we have seen alrady wasn't to be, exactly, a placid one), but Brubaker built a finely crafted story to do so, and everything had a proper, rational explanation. It was also well written.

In the events of "the Devil, Inside and Out" there was logic... in OMD there's just a... "magical retcon" ... I know, it's comics, "suspension of disbelief" and all that...but is that the way? I mean "I don't like this so I'll have a demon ex-machina to just wipe it all?

I wonder how will spider-man fit into their precious "New Avengers" (subtitle: Skrullsl! Everyone can be a Skrull! Who is a Skrull?!?) after all this crap.

Probably they'll just go on with it and just have the "black costume for teh movie" Spidey say "funny stuff Spidey always says" in a self-parodic way that has gotten boring rather rapidly.
