I thoroughly enjoyed it for the following reasons:
I thought it was great how they explained getting DD and Cap involved into the same situation. DD (the micro reason) - because people are dying in Hells Kitchen; Cap (the macro reason) - because of the possibility of destroying nothing less than the entire universe! And both reasons, within their given contexts - made sense.
I loved how it fit - and tied up loose ends - within the DD continuity, hooking up Death's Stalker's last appearance and his mother's retribution story in the process. According to the comic's writer, it was his publisher who came up with idea. It's funny that it took a publisher of Italian comic books to line up this continuity.
I thought the art was great. To me, it looked a bit like the work of the immortal John Buscema (muscular, yet well proportioned, superheroes; great panel composition; expressive physical features; and an overall similar "feel" to the look of "Big John's" art). I also loved the slight smiling glint that occasionally appears on DD's face - that's something reminiscent of Gene "The Dean" Colan's DD work. (Wow! A comparison to Buscema and Colan. It doesn't get much better than that!)
The scene in the interrogation room showing DD blowing out the camera screen was a nice touch demonstrating how blindingly fast DD can act. [Oh, and it appears he did it with his left hand. ]
And it was 46 pages of story with no instrusive ads! C'mon guys, that's full value for your sheckel.
The one really silly moment? Perhaps it was Cap giving Death Stalker the idea that his death could cancel out the universe. For a Shield agent, that was a pretty dumb thing to do that could have caused a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Also it was kinda strange to hear Nick Fury speak without his customary "rough neck" dialogue.
One other point: You'd think a story featuring DD and Cap would have been written by Brubaker, rather than someone from Italy. But I don't think Brubaker could have surpassed (by much) the quality of this story.
As I said, overall I think it was an excellent book that nicely fits into the DD continuity. Well done!
