|
|
Apologies if this has been asked before, but does anyone know if there's going to be a second Daredevil omnibus to complete Bendis and Maleev's run on the book (ie. collecting "The Widow", "Golden Age", "Decalogue" and "The Murdock Papers").
I know that there's an Omnibus of the first couple of years of Brubaker's run due out this year, but I haven't seen any information on a release to bridge the gap between the two. I could always buy the TPBs, but I really like the OHC format, especially for this run.
(I know I could always buy the regular HC collections, but then I'd be doubling up on the "King of Hell's Kitchen" and "Wake Up" arcs...) |

I have no actual knowledge of this whatsoever, but I would be VERY surprised if they don't announce a Bendis/Maleev Omnibus volume 2 within a year. It doesn't make much sense for the Brubaker/Lark Omnibus to come out on right on the heels of the first Bendis/Maleev Omnibus, but I guess that's to make up for there not being any HCs during the current run.
I'm just assuming that there will be a second Bendis/Maleev Omnibus, though I have the whole run in HCs (mostly) and a couple of TPBs so I probably won't pick up either one, even if they would look great on the shelf. I'd suggest giving it a few months to see if there is any word. Maybe Kuljit knows. _________________ The Other Murdock Papers |

Thanks! I asked the same question on Bendis' Jinxworld forum and the first reply that I got was that they were pretty certain that a second Omnibus would be released at some point. |

Since the first volume was made up of well over half of Bendis's run, it'd be nice to see "Daredevil: Ninja", "What If...Karen Page had Lived?", and maybe even the "Ultimate Marvel Team-Up" DD/Punisher story included in a second volume for completeness sake and to further justify what will certainly be a 100 dollar price tag. It could be like the second Miller Omnibus, which included DD appearances in other Miller books and mini series, in addition to the actual DD monthly title itself. I'm a huge nerd for collections like that. |

Yeah, that What If issue would be a decent addition, as would "Ninja".
And if they waited until the End of Days project was complete, they could always throw that in too... |

Oh! I haven't read it in forever, so I don't remember how big a part he played, but maybe they could jam Bendis's "Secret War" in there too.
Although it would be super redundant, given that every Ultimate title gets reprinted on a regular basis, I'd still be all for a Bendis ULTIMATE Daredevil Omnibus, just for the hell of it, which would just be storylines and appearances from Ultimate X-Men, Ultimate Spidey, and Ultimate Team-Up. As much as Marvel has double/triple/quadruple-dipped in the past, I don't think they'd be above doing something like this. |

Talking of which, did anyone read the most recent issue of Ultimate Spider-Man? Looks like we won't be seeing any more of Ultimate Daredevil... |

I just remembered, Bendis did at least the first arc of the Elektra series from a few years back. That could be included too! |

Are there any fun extras for those of us who already have the hardcovers? _________________ The Other Murdock Papers |

I never bought the original HCs so I don't know what was included in them. From what I've heard, though, it's more or less a reproduction of what was in the original HCs. I don't think there's a lot that's new. |

Thanks for the info! I guess I'll pass then since I have the HCs. Might get the Bru/Lark DD Omni though since I only have those in trades. And, well, single issues (from roughly #100 forward). There's nothing like paying for something three times to support a franchise. _________________ The Other Murdock Papers |

Did anyone pick up the second Bendis DD omnibus yet? Amazon tells me that my copy has just shipped. |
