I gotta say, I'm really liking the idea of Joe Carnahan directing DD. After watching The Grey last night, I think he's pretty ideal for the job. His realistic approach to violence is exactly what a comic book movie needs to seperate itself from the rest. If he can do with DD what he does here (video below), I think the movie would take alot of audiences by surprise.

Carnahan is a good choice. He can do gritty realism work with Narc and flashy action spectacles with The A Team & Smokin' Aces.
I say, let Stephen Norrington or Alex Proyas have a crack at DD also. Norrington did make the first Blade film, the precursor to all this "dark" superhero movement in films.
And, Proyas made The Crow. How awesome is The Crow??? One of the BEST comic book films! |
