Well boys and girls UK election time is coming. After watching the news I just though I would do a opinion poll on the board to see who, if you had the opportunity to vote, would you vote for?
I am looking forward to here the views of any non UK people to see who they would vote for. My cynical view is that most of you will go for Blair (Labour) as he is George Bush's lap dog.
I think at the moment I am voting Conservative, I want the hospitals cleaned up adn to be honest I don't trust Blair anymore.
Come on then who's voting? _________________ Always Out-Manned, Never Out-Gunned |

Wait, wasn't Tony Blair a part of Cool Britannia? Wasn't Oasis behind him? Did that change? (takes tongue out of cheek)
In all non-seriousness, I would vote for Hugh Grant in "Love Actually." |

I thought Gordon Kennedy was the guy that wrote all those Eric Clapton songs. Isn't the Lib Dem's name Charles? I could be mixing them up. Anyway, as the saying goes, "If your under twenty-five and not liberal, you have no heart." Seeing as how I'm 20, I'll go with him.
He is pro gay as well, which I can dig.

Wait, wait...Blair isn't the "Conservative" candidate? Jesus Christ, what does it take to be conservative over there? That's terrifying.
Anyway, I'd vote for the guy who isn't Blair and who isn't Conservative.

You get half a penny. Name that tune.
PS: how did you guess it? The half political - half nonsensical but nonetheless somewhat scary thing gave it away didn't it? _________________ JC

As with all elections I pick the issues that matter most to me and do a pro and con list.
The issues that matter to me (that may change in ten years but currently relate to me) are issues of education, the American plan for world wide domination (and opposing it) and things like maternity leave (new age guy that I am) and the average worker getting a fair go.
Based on this:
Education
One for Liberal
To quote a Labour policy:
“Encourage more church and other faith-sponsored schools, in line with local demand “
Nah, not for this me (I am Catholic by the way but I’m not for this)
Armed forces
One for Liberal
To quote the Conservatives policy:
“Rebuild a strong and democratic Iraq”
Why? Is this necessary? Not so much building a strong Iraq, I'm all for that, and I'm all for a democracy, I just don't know if its the best thing for Iraq
(I know I'm stirring a potential hornets nest but its early and I can't think of the correct wording or convey the correct concept so I may have to come back to this)
“Support American plans for National Missile Defence and seek to build international support for it”
WHY!?! DEAR GOD WHY!?
In summary, taking in all the other issues I’ve mentioned but won't take up space rabbiting on about, I’d go Liberal this election _________________ "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." - Ghandi |

I've really really liked the last 3 Radiohead albums (Kid A, Amnesiac, and Hail to the Theif). I usually just pop them into the CD player and let them go, as a result, I don't know the names to any of the songs, but it is from the Kid A album. So do I get three-quarters of a penny? |

Well spotted on the Charles Kennedy mistake, Gordon Kennedy used to host the UK national lottery. Sorry. I knew it wasn't John F. though!
I think that is quite funny actually. Who votes for a lottery host.
The Liberal leader is indeed Charles Kennedy. _________________ Always Out-Manned, Never Out-Gunned |

From 1997, the Labour party (Blair) betrayed everything that they once held to be true and swung from the left to the centre or slightly centre right. It was amusing at the time that they adopted a lot of the general Tory policies from the day. Labour are seen as Liberal Tories in some ways. _________________ Always Out-Manned, Never Out-Gunned |

Well, I think that any board that's centred around anything artistic is going to be mostly liberals (we lefties like/produce art). That's not to say there aren't some hawks other than yourself about. I can think of at least a few. There used to be one guy who posted a lot who openly hated gays. He doesn't seem to post any more. But yeah, you're not alone. _________________ JC
