Issue Summary

After taking a 'Flashback' break last issue, we return to the Mr. Fear storyline this issue. It begins at Columbia University, where we listen to a lecture on prisons. The professor sounds like he's just a bit too interested in the topic, and his face is never really shown. He wouldn't be Mr. Fear would he? :)
The scene shifts to Daredevil, using the top of a double-decker tour bus as transportation. He mingles with some tourists who have no idea who he is.
He finally makes it to a diner, and as Matt Murdock, he meets Karen. They talk about Matt's little trip with the tourists, and Karen mentions she is still working as Paige Angel. She is having problems going back there so soon after the Insomnia thing from a few issues ago. Matt worries that Mr. Fear is targeting Karen to get him.
Next, we go to Riker's Island prison, where one of the prisoners gives the 'postal worker' a package. It is addressed to Matt Murdock, Lawyer. Urgent.
Matt gets to work and meets Liz Osborn there. She's hoping Matt can clear Vincent Grazia's name. Grazia was the employee of the Molten Man who had put the briefcase of fear gas in the boardroom (see #365). Foggy walks into the office with Deuce, and shows the trick that he's been teaching the dog. Foggy tries to reconcile with Liz. Matt excuses himself. He has to go to Riker's Island to meet with Grazia. Liz kisses Foggy and tells him that he was wonderful for sending Daredevil to her brother's meeting (from #365) to save the day. They leave the office together.
A phone call is answered by Sunny Sitka, and he takes a message for Matt. It's from the Nina Guttman Institute, and it concerns Mary Walker. For those of you who don't know, Mary Walker is.. Typhoid Mary. This leads into the Daredevil/Deadpool '97 issue.
Matt visits Grazia in prison, and he tries to help him. Grazia is still suffering from the fear gas. Matt is interrupted by the prison guard. He hands Matt a package that just came from the law firm. Matt can't believe it. Inside the package is his billy club. That means someone knows Matt is Daredevil...
Suddenly, a riot breaks out in the prison. Mr. Fear makes his appearance and floods the prison with fear gas. The prisoners all are under his command. Matt is still in his prison cell talking with Grazia and a different prison guard is watching the door. Matt applies a 'Vulcan nerve pinch' to the guard and gets out of the cell to see what he can do about the riot. The prisoners see Matt and attack him. They know Mr. Fear wants him. Matt does his best to not injure the prisoners, but then one gets a hold of Grazia and Matt has to give up.
Matt is taken before Mr. Fear. Fear has been waiting for him, and he goes into a speech about how Matt is a hypocrite who disregards the law. So he MUST be punished. Mr. Fear tells him that Matt must face his judgement in the jail, where he has sent so many people to rot. Mr. Fear says that he is Matt's Judge, Jury and Executioner. We find out that he is lying. Matt's executioner appears. It's the Gladiator... is it Melvin Potter, or someone else?

Next month, the conclusion to this story, with Joe Kelly and Gene Colan.
