Issue SummaryThe issue begins with a double-page spread of the Kingpin's death from last issue.1 WEEK AGO Two cops are talking in their squad car. One is a rookie, and he lets it slip that he thinks costumed vigilantes should be arrested as well as criminals. They get a call that there's a DD-related disturbance. We find DD holding Nitro (from last issue). DD is screaming 'Who sent you?' The rookie cop tells DD to stop. The other cop is embarassed for his partner and tells him to stop; DD is a good guy. The rookie doesn't listen and fires on DD. The bullet misses and hits Nitro in the leg. DD lets the cops know about the explosing at the courthouse and then leaves after giving the rookie cop a stern warning that he'll be watching him closely. Later, Matt is visiting Foggy at the hospital. They talk about the bomb that was meant for Matt. Who would do this? The Kingpin's name comes up, since the Kingpin knows that Matt is DD. Why would we do this now? Foggy's mother walks in and tends to her son. Matt leaves, and on the way out, he pulls a sheet over the head of a lady who was injured in the blast. DD visits the Kingpin's building and smacks around some of his men. DD asks the Kingpin about the explosion. Kingpin says he knows nothing about it. While talking, DD mentions he doesn't recognize one of the men in the room. Silke gives DD some lip and DD smacks him with a billy club to shut him up. 3 MONTHS AGO We see how Silke and the Kingpin's men meet. Silke wants to muscle in on Hell's Kitchen. He's had problems in Chicago and wants to see the Kingpin. His father knows the Kingpin well. The men say that Silke must know Richard Fisk, the Kingpin's son. He's sitting at the bar, but he doesn't look to be in the best shape. He ain't talking much either. TODAY Ben Urich gets a call at the Daily Bugle. The Kingpin is dead! |
