Issue SummarySummary by Sam Johnson
One hour earlier, Warden Cole and Captain Roberts inspect the doctored footage that now skips to the Punisher holding Matt hostage to escape on the riot squad's helicopter. Frank lands the helicopter above Manhattan, telling Matt: "You're hurtin' a lot right now, Murdock... but you don't want to be me. You needed to remember that." Matt dives off the rooftop to find his spare costume and the faux-Daredevil. They fight furiously until the impostor's fist glows, becoming a substance like unto iron! "Danny?" says Matt. The faux-Daredevil is Matt's friend and Hero-for-Hire Danny Rand, who believed he was working through Alton Lennox for Foggy to (illegally) clear Matt's name. Daredevil and Iron Fist leave for Lennox's last address. Gaining entry to Lennox's last office, Ben and Dakota are surprised by the two heroes. The office has already been cleared out, but Dakota discovers an e-ticket to the Principality of Monaco in the fax machine's memory. Later, in New Jersey, Ben brings Matt his disguise, warning him he is throwing his life away. Matt replies he must do this, and Ben and Danny must keep covering for him. Ben concedes: "Just... don't get killed, okay? That's not a story I ever want to write." As news of the riot spreads, public consensus moves away from Murdock as Daredevil. On live television, Warden Cole blames the FBI for his incarceration. In Washington, Senator Engel contacts the FBI Director... Under the name Mike Murdock, Matt departs to the Principality of Monaco, vowing revenge for Foggy's death. Brubaker and Lark's first arc ends in a suburban neighbourhood, as Foggy Nelson retrieves the morning paper with news of Matt's "abduction"... |
