Nuke was a product of the "Super Soldier" program for the US Army. He was dependent on drugs and was mentally unstable. The Kingpin blackmailed a general to acquire Nuke's services, sending the soldier to destroy Hell's Kitchen to draw out Matt Murdock from hiding. With Captain America's help, Nuke was captured, only to be shot on an escape attempt. Daredevil attempted to save Nuke, but Nuke died en route to hospital. Daredevil then dumped the soldier on top of Ben Urich's desk, revealing the government's involvement.
