For a brief time, Turk was one of the street thugs known as the Thunderbolts. He has also worked with Eric Slaughter, the Kingpin and others denizens of New York City's Hell.s Kitchen neighbourhood. Despite his numerous attempts to ascend the ranks in the crime world, he has consistently - and often comically - failed in his schemes, frequently leaving him to drown his sorrows at Josie's Bar and act as an unwilling informant to Daredevil. Turk made an ill-advised attempt to assassinate the Kingpin when he barged into the bar with a gun, not realizing that the FBI was there as well. He was arrested on the spot.
